Rand Paul: Demilitarize Police Forces

david August 14, 2014

unnamed.jpg.pagespeed.ce.XZdIxWtobVIn the wake of ongoing protests in Ferguson, MO following the shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed man whom was shot multiple times by Officer Wilson of the Ferguson Police Department, Senator Rand Paul has called for the nation’s local law enforcement agencies to “demilitarize.”

I have expressed the sentiment many times on the David Dorer Show that once Peace Officers became Law Enforcement, we’ve seen a radical shift in the way in which crimes are investigated and prosecuted. It is nice to see a conservative share my views that a conservative government means more than cutting Federal taxes, but it means that martial law is not to be instituted on a local level simply because law enforcement feels like they are soldiers.

Citizens are not the enemy, they are the boss. By the people, for the people. To serve and protect. Check out Senator Paul’s statements on the issue below, courtesy of The Hill.
