The patently ridiculous reality show that I do not watch, nor care to, has a funny legal twist: Dating Naked producer VH1 has been sued by a contestant for showing her naked, and not blurring out her “vagina and anus” in one shot that aired on national TV. A copy of the complaint is embedded below.
Among the allegations, breach of oral contract, violations of privacy, misappropriation of personal identity, etc., the most shocking demand the complaint makes is for the show to remove from the Internet any and all images of the contestant’s private areas.
While the oral contract claim may have merit, the violations of privacy and misappropriation of identity claims may be subject to assumption of the risk. However, the one thing she certainly cannot get is for VH1 to scrub the internet of her intimate images.
VH1 may be able to make Gary Busey lose weight or list of metal bands seem lame, but they certainly cannot patrol the nooks and crannies of the internet for the trolls on reddit. Sorry, darlin. Those pictures are forever in the minds of losers that watch reality television everywhere. The episode has, however, been removed from VH1’s website.
