The long awaited moment has arrived! Hillary Clinton has announced her intention to run for the Democratic nomination for President in 2016, making her the first Democrat to announce her candidacy, and, in all honesty, finally making conservative criticisms of her policy-making as Secretary of State relevant.
I have said for months now that all of the multifarious criticisms of Mrs. Clinton’s involvement in the 2011 attack on the American Embassy in Benghazi, the “foreign money scandal” with regard to the Clinton Foundation, and the “emailgate” are wholly irrelevant unless she runs for President, and if she does, she’ll have to answer some (excepting Benghazi, I think. In all honesty, the words you use to describe an act of terrorism are valueless. Libya is a hostile area, and I don’t think that Benghazi befalls the Secretary of State, generally) of these criticisms. Specifically, a failure to be a transparent leader in an era of rampant government secrecy with her private email server.
Here’s hoping for solid vetting in the nomination process. Speculation as to an election 19 months from now is valuable to no one.
